SAT. Family Clings to Faith as Miller’s Fight Intensifies

Miller remains in the ICU, currently somewhat sedated — but even in the middle of this storm, there have been small, precious moments of light.
Last night, he was awake long enough to eat a little and spend time with Frankie. For his family, that brief glimpse of “normal” felt like a gift. Over the weekend, his parents, Nana Cindy, Rick, and his siblings were also able to visit — moments they are holding close.
There was cautious encouragement today: doctors say his lungs sound better than they did yesterday. It’s a small improvement, but one his loved ones are choosing to cling to.
Still, the road ahead remains uncertain.
One pulmonologist shared concerns that even if Miller is listed for a transplant, he may not survive long enough to receive one — a sobering assessment among several difficult conversations the family has faced. Yet those closest to him say they’ve seen him defy expectations before.
“God has the final say,” his family shared, expressing both fear and fierce hope as they await a crucial meeting tomorrow to determine whether he will officially be placed on the transplant list. They are asking for prayers to fill that room — for wisdom, clarity, courage, and favor.
For now, Miller is not well enough to return home. He remains dependent on significant respiratory support in the ICU.
Overwhelmed. Hopeful. Scared. Comforted.
All at once.
As the family prepares for what comes next, one message rises above the uncertainty: keep praying.
