SM. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has reportedly cleared Bad Bunny following scrutiny of his Super Bowl LX halftime performance, finding no violations of broadcasting rules despite complaints about alleged “indecent” content. The agency found that the lyrics in the songs performed were “scrubbed” of explicit references for the live broadcast and has shelved further action without imposing fines or penalties.
The FCC is being praised for its final decision on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 60 halftime show this week.
Bad Bunny, a native of Puerto Rico, performed for roughly 15 minutes on the Levi’s Stadium stage. His performance drew more than 120 million viewers on TV. It was one of the most-watched halftime shows ever.
According to a report from the New York Post, the FCC looked into Bad Bunny’s halftime show, but found no violations.
“The FCC’s initial take is that the act and the songs that the Puerto Rican rapper belted out during the halftime show — ‘Tití Me Preguntó,’ ‘Monaco,’ and ‘Safaera’ — were scrubbed of lyrics that normally include references to sex acts and genitalia,” the New York Post reported.
“If they hadn’t been censored, the smutty lyrics could have violated FCC rules banning profanity and obscenity during primetime hours, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter. The agency is said to have shelved any additional scrutiny barring further evidence, this person added.”

The agency has warnings for all performers.
“Language or material that, in context, depicts or describes, in terms patently offensive as measured by contemporary community standards for the broadcast medium, sexual or excretory organs or activities … may be subject to enforcement action by the FCC,” the agency warns on its website.
Fans praising FCC for the decision
“I enjoyed a commentary by one comedian. First the government complained about NOT being able to understand a word he was saying. Second the government complained that he had said some salacious language (after 8 pm in most time zones) during his performance. I wonder who translated said salacious words to them ? The best part of this is that they would have to hire people from the PR to translate, and hopefully were charged some big bucks for the translation,” one fan wrote.
“The congressman who called for an investigation should be investigated,” one fan added.
“The beauty of America……if you don’t like it don’t watch. Your TV has an off button,” one fan added.
“The FCC is just not trying hard enough. I think Bad Bunny’s grandmother used a curse word before she died 20 years ago. Surely that is enough to put Bad Bunny in jail,” another fan added.
