LDL. Community Mourns 10-Year-Old Jaxen McCall
Pinson, Alabama is grieving the loss of a little boy who left a lasting imprint on countless hearts.
Ten-year-old Jaxen McCall passed away on February 9 at Children’s of Alabama, surrounded by the love of his mother, Randa McCall, who held him tightly in his final moments.
Jaxen had autism and was non-verbal, yet those who followed his journey say his presence spoke volumes. He battled adrenal gland cancer that had metastasized to multiple areas of his body — a fight no child should ever have to endure. Through treatments, hospital stays, and unimaginable challenges, he remained a source of inspiration for many who came to know his story.
Over the past months, a growing online community rallied around Jaxen and his family — praying, encouraging, and lifting them up through every update. His mother wants supporters to know how deeply that love has been felt.
A visitation will be held this Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT at Davenport & Harris Funeral Home, located at 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW in Birmingham. Randa and her family have shared that they would be grateful to see members of the community who wish to stop by and honor Jaxen’s life.
For those who would like to send cards or letters of encouragement, messages may be mailed to:

In the midst of overwhelming grief, Randa has expressed heartfelt gratitude for every prayer, message, and act of kindness shown not only to Jaxen, but to other families walking difficult roads.
Jaxen’s life, though far too short, united people in compassion and empathy. And even now, that love continues to surround his family.
Please keep Randa and all who loved Jaxen in your thoughts as they navigate the days ahead. 🙏
