SAT. Update on Hunter Alexander

Life is slowly settling back into routine for Hunter Alexander and his family.
Everyone made it home safely, and today brought a small but meaningful return to normal — Hunter had several of his close buddies over at the house, filling the space with familiar laughter and comfort. His right-hand dressing was changed, and by the time his caregiver headed out, the group was gathered in the kitchen, getting ready to sit down to a pot of gumbo.
But the road ahead continues.
Hunter is scheduled to return to outpatient surgery early Monday morning for surgery number six, another step in a long and difficult recovery journey.
Despite everything, gratitude remains front and center. The artist who has been sharing updates says it’s time to return to painting — and to everyone who has reached out about commissioning artwork, your patience and support are deeply appreciated.
“Thank y’all for supporting my artwork,” the message reads — a quiet reminder that even in the middle of hardship, community support continues to carry this family forward.
The fight isn’t over yet, but tonight, Hunter is home — surrounded by friends, warmth, and the small moments that matter most.
