2s.Yesterday, Will did something incredible.
Yesterday was a big moment… Will took steps without his crutches for the first time.

Right now we’re battling some pretty intense pain in both forearms and his right elbow. We’re praying it’s muscle-related from a long hunting weekend mixed with the inflammation side effects from Cabo. If you pray, please pray specifically that this pain eases and gives him some relief.
Walking has been hard since his last surgery because a larger part of his pelvis was removed than originally anticipated and healing has been slower with Cabo in the mix. It’s a constant balancing act and when the decisions are life or death, that’s a heavy weight for a fourteen-year-old to carry.
We need to get back to New York soon to keep working on his gait so he doesn’t develop bad habits, but yesterday he chose to try walking without the crutches to see if it would calm the forearm pain… and y’all, he did it.
Please also pray over his mindset. He’s frustrated and tired. We meet with school administrators Thursday about him starting back, and he’s worried about this pain, the side effects, and whether things will ever feel normal again while also knowing this medicine is the best chance he has right now to survive.
We will keep marching forth… one step at a time
