SAT . A Moment of Sunshine and Support for Hunter

In the middle of a long and exhausting recovery, today brought a moment of light for Hunter and his loved ones.

Michael Mays, a candidate for mayor of Shreveport, stopped by to personally check on Hunter — a simple visit that carried deep meaning. At a time when days can blur together between hospital rooms, treatments, and uncertainty, being seen and supported matters more than words can say.

Hunter has been going in and out of the hospital, fighting through pain and setbacks. Today, however, he was able to step outside, feel the warmth of the sun on his face, and take in a breath of fresh air. For anyone on a healing journey, those moments — however small they may seem — can feel like a victory.

The visit wasn’t about politics. It was about humanity. About showing up. About reminding someone who’s been through so much that their community hasn’t forgotten them.

For Hunter and his family, the encouragement meant everything. It offered a pause from the heaviness, a reminder that kindness still surrounds them, and that hope can arrive in quiet, unexpected ways.

Sometimes healing doesn’t come from medicine alone — it comes from sunlight, compassion, and knowing you’re not walking this road alone. 🌤️💙
