SAT . Senior Cat Fluffy Hospitalized After First Seizure, Owner Seeks Support and Guidance

A frightening night brought one pet parent into a new and unfamiliar world of worry.
Earlier today, a senior cat named Fluffy experienced his first-ever seizure. Fluffy, who will turn 17 years old on February 26, 2026, was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital after his owner noticed pale gums and signs of dehydration.
“He calmed down within a minute, but it was terrifying,” his owner shared. “He slept the entire ride to the ER, and I kept checking to make sure he was still breathing.”
At the hospital, veterinarians reported that Fluffy’s vital signs were stable, though he remained mentally disoriented following the seizure. He is now receiving IV fluids and is being closely monitored. Doctors say that if Fluffy remains seizure-free for 24 hours, he may be able to return home.
Fluffy has a complex medical history. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in August 2025 and has been receiving weekly subcutaneous fluids. He also battled pneumonia in April 2025, underwent major dental surgery in August, and had two cysts removed in November.
His owner has turned to the pet community for advice, encouragement, and shared experiences while Fluffy remains under observation.
As Fluffy rests under veterinary care, his family is holding onto hope — and gratitude — for every update that brings reassurance. 💞🙏
