SAT . COUNTDOWN TO SURGERY #5: INJURED LINEMAN HUNTER ALEXANDER KEEPS FIGHTING
The countdown is on.

Surgery number five is now scheduled for Monday, February 9, as doctors continue working to save the hands of Hunter Alexander—the 24-year-old lineman whose life changed while restoring power during a brutal winter storm.
Despite the pain and the long stretch between surgeries, Hunter is still pushing forward. Since the last update, he’s been up, sitting with friends, visiting, and doing what he does best—smiling through the pain and staying connected to the people carrying him through this fight.
Doctors have carefully walked Hunter through what lies ahead. The road remains long and uncertain, but the focus is clear: healing, preservation, and protecting his future—his hands, his arms, and everything they represent.

Hunter remains hospitalized, still battling intense nerve pain and the exhausting daily grind that follows an injury of this magnitude. But those closest to him say one thing hasn’t changed.
He’s still Hunter.
Talking. Sitting up. Wearing his Mardi Gras beads. Grateful for the ICU nurses—some pictured with him—who have played such a vital role in his care. His appetite has improved, and the visits, laughter, and familiar faces continue to lift his spirits.
This is the same lineman who climbed into danger so others could stay warm and keep the lights on. Now, he’s enduring surgery after surgery just to keep moving forward.
As Monday approaches, his family has one request—to surround him with strength, prayers, and words that matter.
