LDL. SETBACK IN SAVANNAH’S CARE AS SEIZURES RETURN DURING MEDICATION WEAN
Savannah experienced a difficult and frightening setback after doctors attempted to reduce her sedation overnight.
According to her family, the medical team tried to wean Savannah off the Versed drip, hoping her body would tolerate the change. However, about 45 minutes after the medication was stopped, Savannah went back into status epilepticus, a dangerous and prolonged seizure state.
Doctors immediately responded by administering a Versed bolus and restarting the continuous drip. Due to the severity of the episode, Savannah was placed back on the ventilator to protect her airway and support her breathing.
Roughly 20 minutes later, another emergency followed. Savannah’s oxygen levels suddenly dropped, with her saturation falling into the 70s, prompting rapid intervention by the care team.
In addition to the seizure activity and respiratory instability, doctors are still struggling to keep Savannah’s potassium levels within a safe range, adding another layer of concern to her condition.
The night underscored how fragile Savannah’s situation remains, despite ongoing efforts to stabilize her and move her care forward.
Her family is asking for continued prayers, holding onto hope that tomorrow will bring improvement, stability, and clearer answers.
For now, Savannah remains under close monitoring as doctors adjust medications and support systems, carefully navigating each step in her fight toward recovery.
