Every 10 Minutes”: 11-Year-Old Cancer Warrior Airlifted to ICU After Terrifying Setback

The fight against childhood cancer is unpredictable and often cruel. Last night, that reality hit home for 11-year-old Daniel and his mother in the most terrifying way possible.

Daniel is known to many as a brave “Foundation child,” a boy who has faced his diagnosis of medulloblastoma with courage beyond his years. But in the late hours of the night, his battle took a harrowing turn. Daniel began suffering from severe seizures, striking relentlessly every ten minutes.

The Midnight Dash

He was immediately rushed by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSMC). However, the initial tests revealed a situation far more critical than expected. A CT scan showed a new tumor accompanied by dangerous swelling around his brain.

Realizing the severity of his condition, doctors made the call to transport him immediately. Early this morning, Daniel was airlifted by helicopter to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), one of the nation’s leading pediatric facilities.

A Race Against Time

As of this morning, Daniel is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Doctors are working desperately to stabilize him and control the seizures that have exhausted his small body.

In the last hour, he was wheeled back for a critical MRI. The neuro-oncology team is currently searching for a clearer picture of the new tumor to determine their next move. This is a pivotal moment in Daniel’s care.
