What began as a routine attempt to juggle family life quickly turned into one of the most emotional moments of a mother’s journey through childhood cancer.
After softball games and dance practice filled Thursday and Friday, rain canceled Saturday’s games — allowing Charlie’s mother the chance to return to the hospital. There, she found Will sicker than she had seen him yet.
“This round has been harder on him than his very first round of chemotherapy,” she shared. “He’s so sick.”
Yet even in his weakest moments, Will’s heart remains focused on others — especially his beloved dog, Mack. While battling cancer himself, Will called home to check on Mack’s condition. When he heard Mack was back to barking and chasing the UPS truck, Will smiled, knowing the medication was helping.
