I bring you good news as we start our work week!
7-month old Callen Stuart of Evergreen, AL underwent a complex surgery at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville 3 days ago.
His entire bladder that was outside his body at birth was put back in it’s place.
Callen’s mom Shania sent me this update last night:
“Callen done really well with the surgery (pictures, top).
It ended around 4 pm and we got to see him in recovery in the ICU around 6 pm. We are still in the ICU but will hopefully be moving to a room tomorrow.
“All of the swelling is at its peak today, so that should start to go down tomorrow. He has been weaned off all medication except the epidural!!
The ventilator came off yesterday, and he has been doing so good breathing on his own.
“He had his first sips of juice today, and that made him a happy boy!
He got his smile back today, and that makes me so happy. 
“It is truly a miracle how fast he is bouncing back after such a serious surgery and with no complications.
We are so proud of him!
“We are so thankful for God’s hand over Callen.”
