TST. EXHALING AT LAST: A POSITIVE TWIST IN WILL ROBERTS’ JOURNEY!
His latest scans have been completed- now it’s a bit of a waiting game for 14-year-old Will Roberts, who continues to fight bone cancer.

After 2 days of extensive scans, Will’s mom Brittany summed up what she has learned with some thoughts she conveyed last night about dinnertime.
She granted me permission to update you on her son:
Wrote Brittney:
“I’m sitting at Children’s (Of Alabama) now while Will finishes his last scan- an MRI of his spine.
Earlier today our oncologist called to apologize for any confusion in the report and to let us know an addendum was being completed on Will’s PET scan.
She will go over everything with us Monday once all imaging was finished, reports were updated and her team has discussed the best treatment plan going forward.
“The radiologist finalized the PET addendum this afternoon, and I was able to read it in MyChart.
I can finally exhale a little.
This is what Chat GPT comes in handy for… dumbing all these medic reports down so I can understand them!!!
The image posted is what Chat GPT summarized the pet scan to mean.
“We do still have active disease, but once the PET was properly compared to his last scan, the picture changed in an important way.
“What the PET addendum showed:
• Most of Will’s known cancer spots now have significantly lower uptake than before.
• Lower uptake means less activity- a sign that treatment is working in many areas.
• Several areas that were once very active have cooled down a lot.
• While there are a few new small spots that will need close watching, the overall trend is improvement, NOT WIDESPREAD PROGRESSION!!
“Looking back, the two PET images I shared last night helped me feel like I wasn’t losing my mind- what my eyes were seeing didn’t match what the original report made it sound like.
The addendum finally lined up the words with the images.
“We’ll talk through everything in detail with our Children’s oncology team on Monday.
“Thank you for continuing to pray, love, and stand with us through every twist of this journey.”
Many thanks go out to Jason and Brittney for keeping us updated.
