LS ‘😞🙏🏼 Jude Has Stabilized, But the ICU Battle Continues’ LS
Jude’s seizing has stopped. Thank you, Jesus! The seizures finally subsided after he had three doses of diastat, a hefty dose of morphine, two doses of IV keppra and toredol. His temperature has normalized. We had to load him up with multiple IV rescue meds but he is stabilized.
He’s resting. Please don’t stop praying for our sweet boy
And for us. Nothing can prepare you to witness your child going through something like this. We are so grateful for your prayers.

We did find out this morning that Jude has pseudomonas again, and the culture sensitivities came back showing resistance to the antibiotics he’s usually treated with.
We’re getting Dr. Walker his urologist involved. His chest X-ray looks a little better, but he’s still sounding very crackly and wheezy. The ICU doctor overseeing his care has said he’ll likely need to remain on the ICU ventilator for a while longer. ![]()

They’re planning to restart some of his formula today at a very slow rate—just 5 mL an hour (his normal rate is 105 mL an hour). They want to minimize any risk of aspiration if he doesn’t tolerate it well.

The ICU doctor and respiratory therapist explained that even if Jude gets closer to his home ventilator settings, the ICU ventilator automatically responds more to his pressure needs and breathing demands, whereas his home vent does not. His breaths per minute, lung pressures, PEEP, and overall effort trigger the ICU vent to provide more support. Right now, we just need his lungs to clear more and become more stable.

Prayer points:
• Wisdom and success in treating the pseudomonas in his urine
• That the infection would not spread to his kidneys or his kidney stones
• That his mucus would loosen and move so it can be cleared from his lungs
• Protection from any additional sickness or bacteria
• Tolerance of formula as feeds are restarted
• Strength for his lungs and improved mucus movement
• No more breakthrough seizures
• That neurology would have wisdom in medicating Jude
• For his body temp and heart rate to be stabilized
