SO. THIS CHRISTMAS, THE MIRACLE IS HAVING THE WHOLE FAMILY UNDER ONE ROOF…
“Thank You, God, for such a gorgeous day. Today is radiation treatment #2, and it is Christmas Eve…”
There are days when happiness doesn’t arrive in brightly wrapped boxes under a tree. Instead, it arrives in the form of a clear blue sky, the warmth of the sun on our faces, and the simple, profound fact that we are still breathing, still fighting, and still together. This Christmas, our family isn’t celebrating with grand parties or expensive gifts. We are celebrating with a spirit of resilience and a heart full of infinite gratitude.
Radiation treatment #2 is officially behind us. Watching my son face these treatments is a journey that tears my heart open and fills it with pride all at once. This year, Will’s “Christmas gift” is his own courage—the way he smiles even when his body is enduring the harshest of trials. But in the middle of hospital halls, needles, and heavy machinery, our souls have found a stillness that is hard to explain. It is the peace that comes from knowing God is present. He is holding Will’s hand, and He is steering our ship through these stormy waters.

Never rush past the little moments.
On our way from treatment today, we planned a very special stop. Will wanted to make sure he gave Brantley’s mom a hug. In that moment, I realized that healing doesn’t just come from medicine; it comes from the connection of hearts that share the same rhythm of pain and hope. Will, despite facing his own mountain, was thinking of his friend Brantley. That hug wasn’t just a gesture of comfort; it was a silent promise: “You are not alone. We are in this together.” Days like today remind us that life is woven from these tiny threads—a handshake, a prayer, or a tight hug between those who were strangers but became family through shared hardship.
The miracles of this night didn’t stop there. My heart overflowed when I realized I finally got to hug my sweet Charlie again after she spent some much-needed time with Aunt Pooh and Pippie. These short times apart only serve to remind me that the presence of my children is the very oxygen of my life.
The greatest gift: Both babies under one roof.
Thank You, God, because tonight, both of my children—Will and Charlie—are home. We will sleep under the same roof. In the chill of this Christmas Eve, the warmth of their breathing, the presence of Jason, and the quiet peace of our home are everything I have ever hungered for. Tonight, as we close our eyes and wait for the dawn to celebrate the birth of our Savior—sweet Jesus Christ—my heart will be a song of praise. He is the source of all hope, the strength for the weary, and the binder of broken hearts.
He didn’t come into this world in a palace, but in the humility of a manger. And it is in our humility, in the moments when we feel the weakest, that His power shines the brightest. Christmas isn’t about what we have under the tree; it’s about the One we have in our hearts.

Life is fragile, but Faith is unbreakable.
To everyone who has been following Will and Brantley’s journeys: Thank you for being our silent “Prayer Warriors.” Your support is the fuel that keeps us standing. Tonight, as you gather with your own families, please take a small moment to join us in thanksgiving. Give thanks for the quiet breaths, the laughter of children, and the fact that we still have the opportunity to love one another fiercely.
We are still waiting on more miracles for Will and for the full recovery of sweet Brantley. We believe that with God, nothing is impossible. Tonight will be a night of rest, a night of restoration, and a night of fierce, unwavering hope.
