LDL. 💔 At just 14, Will Roberts should be enjoying life — not fighting bone cancer.
Tuscaloosa, Alabama — At 14, most boys dream of football, friends, and teenage adventures. But Will Roberts is fighting a bigger battle: bone cancer.
This brave young man, along with his family — dad Jason, mom Brittney, sister Charlie, and grandma — is inspiring the world with their unconditional love, mutual support, and steadfast faith that’s carrying them through the darkest days.
Last Sunday was an emotional rollercoaster for the Roberts family. Will and his sister Charlie were scheduled to be baptized — a sacred milestone the whole family had been looking forward to. But sudden sharp pain hit Will before church. Dad Jason rushed him to Children’s of Alabama. Charlie went to church with mom Brittney and was baptized amid joy mixed with tears.

Will and his dad returned home late that evening near Tuscaloosa. Will promises to be baptized when he’s stronger — a promise full of hope.
Brittney Roberts, the resilient mother, poured out her heart in a late-night post after that long Sunday:
“I love you. Every one of you as brothers and sisters in Christ. You choose to support us, and Jason and I can never find enough words to say thank you.
“Today (Sunday) was a good day.
But it was also a hard one.
“There were smiles and moments that felt light, and I’m truly grateful for those. But my heart is still tired. I can feel thankful and worn down at the same time, and that’s just where I am tonight.
“Some days don’t come with just one feeling. They come with a mix… hope, exhaustion, peace, and ache all wrapped together. And I know so many of you understand that place.
“Thank you for walking this road with us. For the prayers, the messages, the love, and the reminders that we are not alone. We feel it more than you know.
“Tonight I’m resting in God, holding onto the good, and trusting Him with the hard. Tomorrow… we’ll keep moving forward together.
“Enjoy seeing Will back at home after the emergency room. It did my heart so much good to see him sitting up for a few minutes and interacting with family who traveled to be here for his baptism today. That didn’t happen, but it will, when he’s able.
“Tonight, as we took Charlie’s friend home, Will asked, “Mama, can I take Rebel (family dog) and ride with you and listen to music?”
Jason ended up coming too, along with Granny and both dogs. We had a good 20 minutes of worship and praise — just good, sweet family time.
“As we got closer to home, Will leaned forward. I knew he was hurting. But I was so thankful for those 20 minutes God gave him the strength to get up and get out with us. Even if it was just a car ride.
“And tonight, that was enough.”
Thank you, Brittney, for your beautiful words.
