3S. Steelers moving on from entire coaching staff, per report
Mike Tomlin’s decision to step away from head coaching duties might’ve had a major impact on the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers coaching staff, as a new report regarding their future in the Steel City is especially bleak.
According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac, the Steelers informed all coaches and assistants hired by Tomlin that they are free to “pursue other opportunities” and won’t be kept unless the new head coach wants to keep them aboard.
Mike Tomlin shocked the NFL world with his decision to step down as head coach, with Steelers president Art Rooney II even stating he was interested in running it back for the 2026 season.
If the Steelers truly choose to cut ties with their entire coaching staff, including offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, and special teams coordinator Danny Smith, it would mark one of the most significant resets in franchise history.
